Description
A green praying mantis looking at the camera and allowing me to take a macro shot up close. This mantis was busy looking for food as I was trying to get pictures and it was ignoring me the majority of the time. I wanted to get a picture of it looking at me, so I pressed the button for the flash to pop up. This got the attention of the mantis and it looked at me for a second or two and I was finally able to get a shot of it looking at the camera. My lens was less than two inches from the mantis during this shot. This image was taken in Greeley Colorado.

Marvelous take. Everything about this insect is very distinct, very crisp. Never thought about them having such a variety of color shadings. Very interesting creature. Thank you for sharing.

That is one fabulouse "Menthe Religieuse" or Praying Mantis as a gardner every one of us needs these insects around that is a very effective ecological way to kill the pests in your gardens..I started to see them around when I added the water features in my own garden..ahh I wish I took that shot myself..lol!
